Kareena Kapoor was not destined to make her debut in the super hit film, Kaho Na Pyar Hai, though she was being groomed for this film, fate had other plans. Kareena made her much awaited debut with another much hyped about film, J P Dutta's 'Refugee', but which failed to deliver. The talented actress also has no regrets about 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and 'Devdas'. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali had earlier approached Kareena for these films which she could not accept. She wanted to study law in Harvard and had no plans to do anything with Bollywood. Boston looked far more interesting. Kareena was quite unsure even about Paro's role in 'Devdas', but then destiny had other plans.

There has been a great deal of speculation that after a five-year hiatus, Madhuri might be returning to the big screen.

However, a spokesperson for Yash Raj Films has now confirmed that Madhuri, who had settled in the United States after she married Dr. Sriram Nene in 1999, will make her comeback in a Yash Raj film.

Cinematographer Anil Mehtahe, will direct the film. He has has done the cinematography for films such as Lagaan, Veer Zaara and the recently released Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

“The film will go on the floors in January next year,” he stated.

Madhuri’s business manager, Rikku Rakeshnath, confirmed that the Yash Raj film will be Madhuri’s first film after Devdas, also said she would star in his home production as well.
